"Long-Voyager" (long-voyager)

Mystery plug may be the cause of all my issues:
Located in the group of plugs behind the battery. It is part of my engine wiring harness, sends signal power to the TPS.
It’s my 95 Acclaim. 94 3.0 V6, 93 4-speed, 92 Wiring harness. 93 ECM. 93 TCM
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
As it stands it runs/drives, but the trans is in limp mode. Thinking it is due to the CEL being lit for a TPS code (which triggers trans limp mode). This little plug feeds signal power to the TPS.

butt? Butt plug?
Are you quizzing us on a plug in a random car we know nothing about? Or do you want us to help you with a particular problem on your car? If latter, you may still need to clarify what car and what symptoms

Ahh.. that makes more sense. Yeah. I was away for a week or two. Also don’t think I was following anything. I’m not much of a follower. Carry on.

What was the trans originally in?

It kinda looks like a fuel evap plug...? At least, the one on my ITR looks like that and when plugged in, sends the car into some sort of limp mode as well (it isnt really limp mode and it only happens because of my ecu)

I thought you ate Caravan transmissons for breakfast? Is the engine from the same Caravan or an entirely different vehicle?

I have no clue. Does one of your other vans have a Stan connector? Maybe find the vehicle Stan came from check the wiring diagram or better an intactish car to see what Stan is supposed to be connected to?

That’s the problem. The engine harness, trans harness, and engine bay harness are all from the same car.
My van does not have this connector either.........
I will be going to the JY again this week and checking other 3.0/4-speed vehicles to see if I can find it and where it’s supposed to go.

The plug is for the Throttle Position Sensor as far as I can tell.
The engine is from my 94. The trans is from a 93 I parted out. All the wiring is from the same 92 Acclaim......

I don’t understand the question. Are you asking what the plug is for, and then answering your own question with throttle position sensor ?
The bigger mystery would seem to be why it’s been piggybacked with a scotchlok.

Do you know where that vampire tap is going? Have you checked that it hasn’t wrecked the main wire?
Long-Voyager
> vicali

The vampire tap was added (temporarily) from the ECM to get the proper 5v supply to the TPS.

What that is suppose to plug into is the issue. I know where it comes from (or goes to actually), but I don’t have the opposite plug.
This is why it’s piggy-backed ATM, so my TPS has the proper 5v supply it should have. That was a temporary, let’s see if this works game.

Dear Stan, I meant to write you sooner but I just been busy
You said your girlfriend’s pregnant now, how far along is she?
Look, I’m really flattered you would call your daughter that
And here’s an autograph for your brother
I wrote it on the Starter cap
I’m sorry I didn’t see you at the show, I must of missed you
Don’t think I did that shit intentionally just to diss you
But what’s this shit you said about you like to cut your wrists too?
I say that shit just clownin’ dog, come on, how fucked up is you?
You got some issues Stan, I think you need some counseling
To help your ass from bouncing off the walls when you get down some
And what’s this shit about us meant to be together?
That type of shit will make me not want us to meet each other
I really think you and your girlfriend need each other
Or maybe you just need to treat her better
I hope you get to read this letter, I just hope it reaches you in time
Before you hurt yourself, I think that you’ll be doin’ just fine
If you relax a little, I’m glad I inspire you but Stan
Why are you so mad? Try to understand, that I do want you as a fan
I just don’t want you to do some crazy shit
I seen this one shit on the news a couple weeks ago that made me sick
Some dude was drunk and drove his car over a bridge
And had his girlfriend in the trunk, and she was pregnant with his kid
And in the car they found a tape, but they didn’t say who it was to
Come to think about, his name was, it was you
Damn!

Is the TPS nearby, and it just uses a different connector? Or is there like a sub-harness or pigtail that goes in-between?

The TPS is nearby. TPS, IAC, Injectors, O2 EGR are all on this engine harness. It plugs into the engine bay harness where this plug is.

Ok so it sounds like it’s definitely in the right place to plug into the TPS (assuming there aren’t any other TPS connectors in that area), it’s just that the connector itself is different.
I wonder if there was a manufacturing change, maybe something different from one year to the next in how the TPS operates. Maybe they changed the plug to keep people from hooking up a TPS that would generate the wrong signal?

In this instance, all the wiring is from the same car, so this plug’s mate has just disappeared into the unknown.
I’m going to the JY this weekend to look at other car’s wiring to see if I can find/trace Stan. Once I know his whereabouts, I should be able to sort it all out.
